Of course DX should have a website. I am afraid I don't see the point of this poll - why would any one of us think that they shouldn't?
April, I think there are two reasons for having the poll - firstly, another opportunity for all the members to vent their frustrations (again!) over the way we have been treated. Secondly, maybe if Merv, or anyone else at DXS/GDT is listening, they will get the message (again!) that there are a lot of very disgruntled members of DXS.
Regardless of whether our contributions are regarded as 'investments' or not, the total membership dues paid must run into millions (maybe billions?) of dollars (or DXG if we can believe in that as a currency). Membership of any organization usually results in some return to the individuals who purchase said membership. For the last couple of years the DXS membership has received next to nothing (in my case it is nothing) in return, other than learning that DXS has a fundamentally flawed development plan (assuming, for the moment, that there is a business plan of any kind).
Although we don't appear to have any say in the future of DXS with the people in charge, it is kinda nice to know that at least among 90% of those who have voted so far there is a level of desire to see DXS succeed and prosper. Whether there is any expectation that they will or not is another story.
Here's the issue that puzzles me. If (a) DXS is "working" on commercially viable services, and (b), since those services are apparantly not ready fo activation/use, and (c), sat uplinks are rather expensive; where exactly does Merv get the money to host and publish a site?
Perhaps if we agreed to pass the hat and we each donated, say 50 USD monthy through PayPal, Merv could then turn the link on and get a page up?

You think that's a puzzle? Work this out ...
when DX originally started having issues staying online, AlLynne Hosting offered them a free hosting account in order to have a temporary page for announcements. But as with every other offer of assistance we have made, it was declined.
