Is it possible that the interview IS Merv, but the transcription/editing process was done by someone for whom English is not their first language?

It's not the "English" that's problematic... it's the way he talks... hard to explain... but I doubt that a transcriptionist would add words like "crap" and "screwed"...
My thoughts exactly Jan. I don't believe he would talk like that at all.

This could actually be a blessing in disguise. Just think, IF this is an actual interview and the reporter has taken liberties with the wording, then Merv may actually have a case to sue the paper for libel and get the money needed to pay the bills
From what I know after meeting Mervyn Copperwaite I would like to say that as far as I am concerned that is NOT Mervyn Copperwaite being quoted here, he simply is far better spoken than that.
