At the very least, when the site comes back up, contact DXSupport and tell them you want to activate your account. Read the last 3-4 DXNews articles which explains account activation. Plan on paying 1-3% per month on the DXG (Credit) in your account. At that point, you will be qualified to outexchange funds, if you wish to do so. Note I used the word "qualified". I am not talking about getting money out, I am talking about what is currently necessary to be QUALIFIED to attempt to take money out.

This is the "operative" phrase!
We have not yet heard of anyone being able to take out anything significant at all. In the recent past there were a few reported $25 LOX processed, but I don't think much more than that, and of late even those have stopped.
What DXS has reported in their recent news article is that in order to QUALIFY (as stated by Russ above) to get funds out, you have to pay fees. If you don't pay fees, then your LOX will be pushed to the back of the line.
I'm guessing there's a pretty long line too - so paying fees is your only hope of getting anything. ever.
Now as to whether there will be Merchants with enough funds to process those LOX requests is another story in and of itself. So unless DXS steps up to the plate and starts processing themselves, I don't see anything moving for a very Very VERY long time.
But that is just MHO - - - although I don't think I'm alone in this point of view.

Since there is no way to know how much faster being at the front of the line versus at the back of the line is or will be I am unwilling to pay additional fees until that is defined. That of course is only my individual choice and not one I encourage anyone else to do.

One of the nice things about having a funded merchant float is I can move funds from the float to IB to pay fees without bringing in new money.
Umn, when the website comes up, of course!

I have enough for 2 months fees in IB right now. I'll use that for the first 2 months to see how things progress. If I can withdraw "at least" that amount each month to my pocket, I'll consider paying for the next month. I'm kind of on a month to month tenancy situation with DXS for now as far as fees go. As soon as the situation arises that the withdrawals are not being processed timely enough to pay the fees, then I'll have to stop INXing. I simply can't put more money into DXS until it is a more proven working system.
I understand fully that it is a "work in progress". I know its a concept with a dream, and it may take a little longer for that dream to come to fruition. I also understand the theory not to put in more money than you'd use to light a cigar with. And that is exactly what I did. At this point, though, I'll have to consider stopping smoking. It simply has to be "workable" for me to consider further funding the effort.
I had some liquid funds I could use for investing, and I put it into DXS with the hope and dream of making a "career" at being a currency exchanger. My ultimate goal was to get my Console and work it. Unfortunately when I joined, no new Consoles were available. By the time they were, there was a license fee attached, which I gladly paid, and began building my float. Sadly, I didn't make enough that first year to even cover half the expense of the console, and I didn't renew when the time came (thank goodness!).
I'll hang around as long as they're still online, of course. I'll follow what they're doing and the changes as best as I can. I'll participate in the areas that I can as they come available, but I just can't continue to fund their project any longer. My own personal finances just can't support it.
Of course for any of this to happen, they have to come back online again - - - another story altogether.

- - - for as long as they allow this. I moved my float to my portfolio on their advice that I'd be able to move it back out again with ease as soon as the system sped up again. And now I have no float, the system never sped up, and the funds I did had were reduced.
So good luck with that - - -
You might want to figure out how many months you are willing to go and move that amount over all at once "just in case" things change (?), instead of doing it a month at a time.
They may change their minds and "restructure" again and remove that function. Its happened before - - -

Well, if they wish to reclassify "Float" inn such a way as to deny it is LIQUID e-currency funds, there is nothing I can do about it. Their bat, their ball, their servers, wherever they are.
At this point I have taken the "attitude" that the funds are gone and I am moving on to other ventures as quickly as I can spring funds loose. Obviously the funds in DXS are not counted as "loose" funds.
