This may shed a bit of light - if it's true.

It could have something to do with this story:

« Back to the top page e-Bullion still down for "routine maintenance"

Services on e-Bullion's website have been offline since Tuesday afternoon, despite a message on e-Bullion's home page that "routine maintenance" would only take four hours.

The digital gold currency site is owned by James Fayed, who has been charged with performing unlicensed money transactions and is a suspect in his wife's murder.

Damn, I'd have paid to see that movie! Circles within circles. Wonder if Liberty Reserve is the next target?

WOW! What a story! That's an HBO movie of the week to be sure! And eBullion was one of the constant currencies over the past few years - RATS!!! Never would have thought - - - and yet another one bites the dust! Sure glad that for once, I had no funds stored in there! whew!

I sure hope AlertPay hangs on - they are one of the last remaining legitimate currency sites! Of course, I still stand by my philosophy not to "park" funds in any of the online currencies anymore. I just use them as a "gateway".

Money in, money out. That's my new motto - and if P2P continues as it has been, there will be money IN very soon!!! Shortly to be followed by money OUT!
My favorite kind of transaction!

Nah, unlike e-gold and e-bullion:

Liberty Reserve, c-gold, and Pecunix are all based outside the U.S. (both as legal situs of the companies and operationally), so will be much more difficult targets.
