I thought my question was one that would lead to some decent discussion.
All I am trying to find out is WHY some people can still have faith in DXS. I am sure that, should there be a good reason or explanation for this faith, a number of people may actually stop and take a second look things.
I guess what Russ is saying is that the faith some have in DXS is much like faith people have in their god or gods. You can't see Merv.. or god(s)... yet people believe. People have their own reasons for believing, just as i guess Jan and other have their own reasons for believing in DXS.
I have faith in many things, but as i said earlier, i can't understand how a philisophical principal such as faith, or synchronicity for that matter can be a justifiable basis of belief in a company that has all but vanished and cut all ties with it's members (except the small few... who ironically, have the faith).
The subject of faith in relationship to DX is a bit different than faith in a deity. We have had an actual working condition with DX for several years in one way or another. Faith is the assured expectation of/in something not seen. We have seen too much of DX and lately none of it is good. Where is the faith aspect? Even gods have their prophets and messengers that keep you aprised of their opinions, intentions, laws, or such. It's not like some unseen business or person is making promises of future happenings and someone keeping us up to date and keeping up our "faith" of whats to come.
In what i have experienced with the abandonment i feel from DX/Merv/GDT is more in line with a "Loss of Faith". Similar to someone who is a devote believer in god and then loses a love one to some disease despite the constant prayers. They feel that god has abandoned them and they turn their back completely on them.
There is no such thing as "blind faith" since faith is based on a belief in something "unseen". I think this is more like someone who believes in god and lives amongsth a group of non-believers. They spend day after day pointing out all the evidence that there is no god or that he/she has turned their backs on all of us and dont deserve our worship. The one believer has to numb themselves to this talk in order to hold on to what they believe in their hearts. It's the true definition of faith in action.
However, what is happening often times in the forums and discussions is the believers not simply ignoring the naysayers and holding onto their faith. They are actively coming in and saying "you are wrong" and putting down those who do not believe anymore or never have. To come out and tell others they are wrong, not that you believe they are wrong and hint at knowledge you have over theirs, is not correct in this at all. And before you (whoever thinks im talking about them) goes and tries to argue the point think about what you say, "I dont agree with this.... believe me i KNOW", which 100% gives the impression you know something behind the scenes to give that belief a firm footing. If you DON'T know any more than we do, stop insinuating that you do by your words. That has nothing to do with faith and all the characteristics of a snake-oil salesman.
