DXSupport ID: TIF-IMA36B-SA26
I asked:

Hi,
We have had a number of people inquire as to the Rewards to Credit conversion that you have been doing for people who contact you.
Can you please tell me, are people able to request for their rewards to be converted to credits without them needing to first be activated?
If not, why not?
Can i please share your reply.

They replied with:

Hello Sam,
Users can request their DXG Rewards to be converted to DXCredit before the system wide conversion.
The conversion needs to be done before activation anyway. There have been no activation of accounts as yet as it will require a number of account's to be funded before.
You can share the information.
We hope we have been of assistance, if you have any further questions or queries please don't hesitate to reply.
With Regards,
The DXSupport Team

I don't understand the comment "There have been no activation of accounts as yet as it will require a number of account's to be funded before."
Do you?

Absolutely no idea. If i were to take a guess, i would say they are talking about members funding their FG accts etc to pay the fees.

Voluntary Fees can only come from the Incoming Balance, therefore one must have sufficient funds to cover them in the incoming balance. To get to the required level one can InXchange from any of the e-curriencies including FG or if you are a merchant you can withdrawl some float to the incoming balance. All of the above funds are classified as DXG Standard.
Forced Fees are taken from the DXCredit in the Available Balance.
So the choice is which do you want to use to pay, for pay we must.
Since the Portfollios are still closed, it is no longer possible to do a DXDebit withdrawl to the Available Balance.

Yes, but remember, forced fees are more a punishment than anything else, as although you will still lose funds on those fees, you don't actually get anything in return, as you do with the so called voluntary fees.

I don't understand that statement either Russ.
As for whether the fees are paid voluntarily from fresh outside funds or removed from your account DXG-C (I very much dislike the term "Forced Fees") it seems to me the fees will have been paid and should keep the account activated. Guess I'm just weird that way.

Well, that's how it SHOULD be. But it's not. If they take fees from the DXC balance you wont get activated. The only way to get activated is to choose to pay the fees with fresh funds, or real funds (ie. IB) already in the system.
Whether you wish to call it a personal choice of each member, or a form of blackmail by DXS is up to each person. For me personally, the fact that we're given a choice under the guise of "do this or else" simply rubs me the wrong way.

No it's not a punishment at all. Remember DXCredit represents your Available Credit Line and your right to earn on it thru EOS Credits is dependent on paying the fees associated with that right. NO PAY, NO EARN. Sounds fair to me. Any credit card company would terminate your Credit Line if you didn't pay. You are not being penalized on money your brought in.
