I'm thinking they need to find a new freakin distributor! 5 days? It takes 2 at the MOST to get a plane from one side of the world to the other. Allow a day to get the parts sent to the plane and a day to get it to them in Vanuatu, that's 4 at the very most.
Are they getting their stuff delivered by boat?

Seems that many simply don't care anymore. That's worse than having people upset at your company.

Well, not saying that this situation is "OK" or anything... but... I have "guaranteed overnight service" for my Dell computer... but, where I live in rural USA... it always takes 4-5 days minimum to get parts... ;-(
So... 5 days to vanuatu, for a specialized part, would not seem unreasonable to me.
However, even so... there should be enough redundancy and/or other server locations etc, for such an enterprise as DXS is stating they are developing "in the coming weeks", that such a situations should not exist...

Yes, their excuses are monotonous.

Last year a business i know in Rural New Zealand had their system go down with faulty equipment. Their systems are custom built to cater for their needs (forestry systems), and as such, the parts are unique and custom ordered from the UK of all places. They managed to order, have them flown over to New Zealand, got them from Auckland to the business (8hrs by car) and installed, all within 72hrs.
So i ask this question... could DXS have their equipment shipped faster, and if so, why are they not doing it?

Don't forget they function on island time. So we are really talking about 3-4 weeks. They forgot to include celebrating the arrival of the parts, mandatory surf time, 3 hour lunch breaks, the "please don't rain again" ceremony, realizing they don't have the right tools to install the new parts so those have to be ordered too.... and on and on.
sorry, have to have a little sarcastic humor. Only coping mechanism left.
aloha,
sherri
ps. thanks for the update though. sarcasm or not, I do appreciate it.

Personally, I think the 5 day shipping is just another in a long string of delay messages to come. I don't see how any life is going to come back to DX with such a poor level of access. Who in their right mind would use the services on their website if they are always offline, causing a website operator nothing but trouble. I just don't get it, but each time this happens, I get more disappointed.
