I don't think its eGold's problem - from what I understand it was a problem their server interface was having with eGold.

And I have a lot more than $22.95 to recover, so I, for one am going to get the card, and hope for the best.
Just because one site closes, doesn't necessarily mean you should give up on autosurfing all together. Some people, myself included, have made very good money doing this. This is the reason why diversification, and an "investing strategy" is so important.
Just for starters, make sure "not all your eggs are in one basket" is probably one of the most important ideas to realize. Then if one folds, you can recouperate and continue without too much loss. Just like advertising is a "numbers game", surfing is also, and diversification is a huge part of that.
Next is to pull out your initial investment as soon as possible so you can continue on "profit money". Of course, if it crashes before you have a chance to do this, it can be very frustrating, but there are some "safer" sites out there. And notice I never say "safe" I say "safer" because even DX could fold up over night. Nothing is exactly SAFE. But there is a right way and a wrong way to go about the surfing game. When done correctly you can minimize your risks to a tolerable degree.
Sites do occasionally come and go, this is part of this business and has to be factored in to your strategy. Of course everyone's risk tolerance is different. Just as with DX, surfing is not for the faint of heart. But I wouldn't judge an entire industry because this particular site did not succeed.

Well, for me it just wouldn't be worth it. They only owe me $18.64, so the card would cost more than that. Plus I'm expecting another debit card any day now through Neteller, so I really wouldn't need another one since I wouldn't be using it that much.
As for the auto-surfs.... so far, I've lost money in 12DP and Blackgold Surf and that was a lot more money than what I had in Phoenix Surf. I was expecting a payout from SweetSurf also, and they just notified everyone yesterday that they're shutting down... so there's a bit more money, and now Phoenix Surf.... I've even tried to get in early on some others and lost... I guess it's just my luck and I'm not supposed to be doing these auto-surfs... they're all right for some people, just not for me. As Kenny Rogers sang, 'you've gotta know when to fold.'

Well, I had a nice surprise this evening! I just got a refund from Phoenix Surf on one of my upgrades that expired 5/29. I still have 2 others that expired on 5/20 and 5/24 that I'm waiting to be paid on, but it was encouraging to see one of my refunds come through, funny it was the latter of the 3 - but oh well - it was something!
And to top it off, it was paid to my eGold account which is interesting since I did apply for, pay for, and get approved for the debit card????
Very interesting. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens from here, but I am encouraged that at least I got one of mine refunded - which is more than I expect I'll ever see from 12 Daily Pro - hahahahaha!
What can I say???? but, 1 down, 2 to go.

Latest Update from Phoenix
Hi Everyone,
I'm sure there are some of you, like myself who have been very concerned that the Phoenix site has not been accessable lately, but I just got on today, and thought I'd post the latest news as it might affect some of you.
If you are waiting for a refund like I am, you need to go into your account, log-in, and RE-verify your NME card is listed as your Payout Processor. I guess when they changed servers this info was lost, so even if you've done it before, go in and do it again so that you will be paid. I have received refund on one of my upgrades, still waiting on 2 more!
Here is the most recent news as they have posted:

IMPORTANT: Please re-login to your account and update your NME Debit Card once again. If you have done it already, please re-login to make sure that it is still there on file. If your NME Debit Card is not on file, please login and click on the yellow button to the right of your name in your back office. Once there, please enter your NME Debit Card number, then make sure to enter your password, then hit save. If you do not put in your password and hit save, changes will not be made.

The uncontrollable recent events that have caused Phoenix Surf to suffer have educated us. It has equipped us to develop a program that is full proof. We have been DDOS attacked, hacked, and many other anomalies that have paralyzed the program. The positive outcome through this adversity is that we learned that our next program would be BIGGER and STRONGER than any thing this industry has seen. We have modified and improved the traffic exchange concept. Most importantly, we learned that a program could have many benefits to advertisers and members alike, however the single most important feature of New Global Traffic can be summed up in one word: SUSTAINABILITY. We have worked extremely hard to create a program that can truly change the industry as a whole. Lastly, as we continue to work on litigating the problems in Phoenix Surf, we are excited to announce our new program: New Global Traffic.
We are launching NGT because of the popular demand made by our members. We are very proud to say that Phoenix Surf was arguably the fastest growing traffic exchange site to date, but even with the success that it achieved, it still had its issues. Once again, with much input and supporting cast, New Global Traffic will change the way Traffic Exchange has been perceived in the past and will be participated in during the very near future.
We would like everybody to take Thursday June 15 to make sure that they are completely prepared to register for our new site, newglobaltraffic.com. Again, this site is like nothing that has ever been seen in this industry. The mistakes and pitfalls that have befallen the industry in the past have been reversed. Remember, in order to sign up for NGT you must be registered with nmeglobal.com and INVISUS. Please contact your upline to receive both of these links if you are not already registered. We hope you are as excited as us about your future success! www.newglobaltraffic.com.

The site is back up and running so now its time for a quick update:
1. The site was temporarily down while we moved the site to our own servers. We are currently moving over the database and hope to have this accomplished within 48 hours.
2. The refund process is still in process. We have not finished refunding the entire NME membership base but are making steady progress. Remember, as soon as the NME membership is refunded, we will move onto other Phoenixsurf.com members.
3. We look forward to seeing everybody at the convention. Our convention planning committee is finalizing some exciting announcements to be made later this week. Please finalize your travel arrangements as the date is rapidly approaching!
4. We are conducting conference calls with the leadership staff to get everybody ready for the near and exciting future! There will be more updates shortly. Please remember, too, that if phoenixsurf.com is ever down or unavailable for any reason, then you can read all important updates by going to www.nmecommunity.com.
5. Members can not currently log in to their accounts via the account login options. This is because the database is still being switched to our new servers. As soon as this switch is complete, the log in option will appear again.
Together in Success,
NME

Am i right in thinking that the only way to get refunds is via the card?
If so, what about all those people with smaller amounts in the program, where getting the card would cost almost as much, or more than they are actually owed?

Yes, Sam, that's where I am. It's only a small amount they owe me and the card would cost me more than what they owe me, so I'm just chalking it up to experience. PS wins!
