I've been waiting for my payout for 11 days now... and I also will not put anymore money into this until I see some better management. I just tried to access the forum and found this...

I'm about to give up on these paid to surf sites... I've not lost a lot of money, but enough to let me know that I would have lost a lot had I put a lot into them.
I happen to know that the admins of this site are supposed to be very reputable people. However, you never know what goes on behind the scenes. A lot of these sites get hacked, their egold accounts get hacked, and all kinds of other problems, or so say the admins, so you never can tell. I just don't trust them anymore. I'll just stick to my traffic exchanges where I can advertise my actual business pages and earn from them.

Just a heads up if you have not seen this email. Arrived this morning.
Dear Members,
We would like to bring you up to date on the current situation of
Phoenixsurf.com.
As a result of the recent events affecting the program, Phoenixsurf has
a cash shortage. Our situation is being reviewed by our lawyer. We are
working to come up with a strategy to get our members the return of
their initial principal purchase less profits taken.
Our advice for everyone is to please continue surfing your 15 sites a
day until you have completed your cycle and/or used up your advertising
credits. We have disabled the purchases of advertising packages. Once
all of the advertising packages are expired then we will review how
much we need to pay out and come up with a plan. It would help the
recovery program if you would continue to surf until further advised.
We greatly appreciate your continuing support and thank you for giving
us time to review this matter.

I didn't see an email either, but this posted on their forum page ...

Dear Phoenixsurf.com Members,
We apologize for the brief period of silence after this past weekend. We have frozen our system “as-is” in order to gather important data. Also, we have discovered a glitch in the e-mailer system.
Now, moving forward; It is true that we are working actively to improve the Phoenixsurf model and are very excited with our progress thus far. Our members have a lot to be exited about.
We want to begin anew by making our members whole by paying back the principal to our membership base. With this principal, members will be able to begin earning again through our various programs.
How will refunds be issued?
Due to the current issues with Egold, we believe that we will begin issuing refunds to the NME debit cards first. If you do not have an NME debit card, it is extremely important that you secure one at this time in order to ensure a fast, safe medium for us to send the payment to. Please go to www.nmecard.com and register for your debit card by following the instructions on the homepage.
As soon as you receive your card number and access code, please log-into your Phoenixsurf.com account, click on the “edit” button next to your name, then change your payout details to “NMECard” and add your NME Debit card number. Again, at this time we hope to be able to refund NME Debit card holders as quickly as possible.
As in life, business is a learning experience. We sincerely thank our members for their support as we work through these current problems and make our program even stronger. We are here for the long run and please look forward to many more updates.
Together in Success,
NME

Oh great! Now they want to SELL us a card in order or us to receive the money they owe us???? Now that's a new tack, isn't it?
No thanks, I think it would probably wind up costing me more for the card than what they owe me, so I guess I'll just chalk this one up to experience also!!!
No more paid-to-surf programs for me!!!

Well, the cost of the card is only $22.95, and the money doesn't go to Phoenix, it goes to the card company. There are a lot of cards out there that are $99 and more, so this one is not too bad.
And I have a lot more than $22.95 to recover, so I, for one am going to get the card, and hope for the best.
Just because one site closes, doesn't necessarily mean you should give up on autosurfing all together. Some people, myself included, have made very good money doing this. This is the reason why diversification, and an "investing strategy" is so important.
Just for starters, make sure "not all your eggs are in one basket" is probably one of the most important ideas to realize. Then if one folds, you can recouperate and continue without too much loss. Just like advertising is a "numbers game", surfing is also, and diversification is a huge part of that.
Next is to pull out your initial investment as soon as possible so you can continue on "profit money". Of course, if it crashes before you have a chance to do this, it can be very frustrating, but there are some "safer" sites out there. And notice I never say "safe" I say "safer" because even DX could fold up over night. Nothing is exactly SAFE. But there is a right way and a wrong way to go about the surfing game. When done correctly you can minimize your risks to a tolerable degree.
Sites do occasionally come and go, this is part of this business and has to be factored in to your strategy. Of course everyone's risk tolerance is different. Just as with DX, surfing is not for the faint of heart. But I wouldn't judge an entire industry because this particular site did not succeed.
