DXGlobal Trace
Hi,
Does anyone understand what this DXGlobal Trace is all about?
What I understand is they show the activity within the system. But what kind of activity are we talking about. There a circle's and line between them, but there as circling squares as well. I have no idea what they represent.
Another weird thing: in front of Ghana (West Africa) constantly a circle is popping up, but there is no island. Perhaps a oil drilling platfrom? I doubt whether they will bring a lot of oil ashore as this guy is constantly 'active'!?

The circles with lines between them are adsxposed ads, the owner of the adsxposed stream's website and whoever is viewing it. For instance, since we switched the adsxposed stream back on in DX4All, there has been more activity. If you look at the south east england circles, thats where our account is registered and as we show people the adsxposed stream you will see a line between us and the viewer, so I knew oneplanet was online before I came in here because he is in Ireland and the line keeps coming up between us and Ireland.
The revolving squares are someone logging into their DXAccount. The rest I'm not too sure about. The signal coming from off of the West Coast of Africa has been there since they first brought the globaltrace out and we have been puzzling about it since then.

Thanks for explaining this I have wondered the same for a while and I for one find it facinating to look at. I also think it will be a lot more active in the near future. Thanks again.

Ben, If you do a search in DXPlatinum for DXGlobal Trace, I think Eoin started a thread awhile back that was identifying what different symbols/activities meant...

Well there was certainly a lot more activity when I looked at the globaltrace this morning, fascinating to watch really...I know...I'm sad and even more interesting, it's all emanating from that point off of the West coast of Africa we are all wondering about.

Seriously sad! I even downloaded Google Earth and took a look at that area - closest I could get to it was the little island of Sao Tome and Principe. Never heard of them before, and I have no idea how they fit into the global economy ... They do, however, appear to feature in the DXS Global Economy!
