Registering for DXConnect
I figured since the way GDT seems to be directing us is to access things through DXConnect it might be advisable to register through DXConnect since it seems to be back up and running. So I punched in my information including password and got a cryptic message which seemed to indicate there was a problem with the passwords. It didn't indicate what the problem might be (they did say they are trying to be more communicative right?) so I changed it to only numbers and lowercase letters. NOPE, that didn't do it, then numbers only, nope still didn't work and finally letters only and that likewise didn't work either. I then gave up for now.
Anyone have insights into registering with DXConnect? Or: is it a bit too early for them to actually accept new registrations and it only appears DXConnect is functional?

Shucks, if it was greek I could get it translated. Glad to know it isn't just me having the problem.

As they put in their last public news item that DXConnect is now available to register, I have sent them a support message telling them about the error message, I am getting it in IE and Firefox.

Firefox here running Kubuntu Linux. Tried it with the other computer also running XP and Firefox with the same result. Would have to uninstall and reinstall IE to try it (got quirky a few months back and I like Firefox better) so have no information about it.

I can log into DX Connect using my old username and password ok.
There are links across the top like, "My info," "Contacts, "Groups," etc. , but nothing happens when you click on them.
The news items just take you to an expanded version of that news item.
Some of the other links seem to work. DX Global trace is funny. I can see my myself blinking away in the UK. I'm not sure what purpose it serves though.
Mewantem, Federal Gold, DXSynergy partner links work ok. As does dXposed.
I clicked on an advert for a Home Business... Berry Tree and seemed to connect with someone in the middle of the USA according to Global Trace
There's someone just off the West coast of Africa. In a boat presumably, as there doesn't appear to be an Island there!
Strangely there's no activity in Vanuatu? It's 2 a.m. there... maybe that has something to do with it.
Presumably DX Connect will be DXSynergy's version of Face Book?
Regards,
Pete

I also ran into the same problem when attempting to register on DXConnect and when looking on the DXSynergy site this is what I found regarding passwords:
Passwords must contain at least 1 (one) numerical character and 1 (one) symbolic character (such as $!&*@ etc')
When I followed the above instructions, I was able to register with no problems.

Guess I should follow the advice I give others to read the help files. It worked!
Thanks Cruiser

I think though, for people that don't know DX very well, a simple message saying what the password must contain instead of
Quote:
SysVar: -2147483560 (VR9004): SysVar: -2147483559
SysVar: -2147483558:
#1 PS602 SysVar: -2147483337
SysVar: -2147483557
|
would make it easier to understand
