Trailer Homecoming

Posted June 26th, 2008 at 05:03 AM by Garage Logician
The wind all day was brisk from the west. Since my ride for the day was taking me south first; then back north it was good this was not a brisk enough wind to push the bike around on the road. Still it was good for keeping you comfortable in the mid 70 to low 80 degree temperatures. This was in my opinion nearly perfect riding weather. Then add to all things considered I was picking up the motorcycle trailer and things got even more perfect.

My arrival was about 11:30 AM and marked by the necessity of assuring the resident Pekingese that indeed she is the boss of the domain. Then out to the garage to bring the trailer out and secure it to the bike. Once outside it was evident the finish and color match is better than anticipated. Not to say the finish is perfect. Extra fine grit wet sandpaper and rubbing compound are intended for making paint look good. Before that there is much to be done while the clear coat cures. This is after all an ongoing project.

After some enjoyable and varied conversation I bid farewell and started back toward home along a different route. Nice thing about much of North Dakota is you can take a county road going the direction you want and there's a good chance it will connect you with the County, State or Federal highway you want to take. Most roads are straight as a cue stick and flat as a billiard table so getting lost takes major effort. Of course when on two wheels the straight and flat part is also the bad part about North Dakota.

The trailer project has made quantum leaps toward completion. I submit a couple pictures for your consideration.
