Contrary to what is stated in the article, FireFox works much better with DXinOne than IE and is much less vulnerable to security issues.

I use FireFox for logging into all my e-services.

To work properly, you should set FireFox as your default browser. This way, outexchanges process using the same browser (netpay for example pulls up the default browser which if not set right would pull up IE and have you re-log in)

Firefox is available at: www.getfirefox.com

Exclamation Re: Must Read! Securing Your Computer (article)

Another security issue worth noting is the use of hsi- high speed internet or broadband or DSL if it hasn't been mentioned before yet. GET A ROUTER! NO EXCUSES! I cannot emphasize this enough to those of you who have high speed connections and think you're secure with just softare; YOU'RE NOT! Using multiple routers is even better! Personally, right now, I'm using one D-Link BroadBand router between a dual computer network using one broadband connection. Ever since using the router, I haven't had any attacks, invasions, or viruses for that matter; it's awesome hardware protection! I plan to get two more routers; one for each computer, to input from each ethernet connector to each router to connect to the main router, and then into the high speed connection. Even more routers can be utilized for ultimate hardware protection against cyber terrorist thugs. I'm not sure if routers can be used for dial-up networks...

Its a great post and everybody should have everything listed there on their computer, I already had all that years ago plus a router and an anti-keylogger program.

And if you can't connect thru your own router, like on wireless at an internet cafe, You should use something like Anonimizer.com, which encrypts what comes out of your computer.

I ran across this today in a newsletter:

Quote:
Did you know that a webpage can record whatever is held in your clipboard that you have pasted or copied previously? Have you ever copied information to your clipboard, then later went online? If the info you copied was of a sensitive nature........ Did you know that a website can easily snatch the info on your clipboard with about one line of Javascript? Yes, it's true. Not all browsers are susceptible to this, but Internet Explorer is, which would also include Crazybrowser and Avantbrowser. Copy any line of this message and head to this page:

http://www.worldstart.com/clipboardtest

If it showed up on that page, then you're probably feeling a little anxious right about now. Just imagine if that info had been a password, credit card number, or bank account info! It could have just as easily been put into a database as shown to you.

While you are on that page you will see step by step instructions on how to fix your security settings to avoid this happening to you.”

I tried this and it works.
If you scroll all the way down the page you will find
a link to download software to do this automatically.

I posted a while back that theres a free clipboard cleaner over on worldstart.com, its fast about 2 sec. also seems to add a bit of speed to your computer.

I've never been able to use Firefox (my default browser) here at DX4D--all I get is HTML code (I think).

And as of today, I can't get here using Metropipe. A screen comes up that says "No Proxies". (Has always worked fine in the past.)

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the article, Tim. I'm covered but good to have it for passing to others. Most useful and appreciated.
