I would agree with you that it would be nice for them to tell all of us their plans. One of the ways I keep myself from being frustrated is to understand that this is their company and they will run it how they see best. I have never made a suggestion to them on how to run their business. To be honest I do not know all that is in store with this system.
The 'week or two' time frame is my best guess from talking with GDT. After a wile one starts to understand the way they talk and the things that GDT has to go through to get things done. It is the way it is and I can get upset about it if I want to.
The reason I post anything at all is to let people know that things are moving ahead and there are good reasons as to why the site is now down for this long time span. I hope to get an update as soon as GDT has the time to speak with me. I will ask if I can share any information with this group. No promises from me about this but I will ask.
I do get frustrated at the replays to my posts from some of the leadership here. As an example look at S2K post above. It is your forum and if you do not want me here I will leave. Let the leadership talk among them self and decide one way or another. I look forward to the leaderships decision on this matter.
Charles, all i said was time will tell. That's neither positive nor negative. I don't honestly see how that could possibly cause any form of frustration.
There are certain things that will get a person banned from this forum. Starting or encouraging by participating in a flame war. Abusive attack posts. Spamming. Stealing in the e-currency trade section. Stuff like that. Less than that and we have no issues, as far as I know. Post away.
I was born near and live in the US. I have worked with many different cultures over the years (mainly in the military). Believe me when I say this. Not a single one of the "English" speaking cultures are similar. Not a bit. Can't even say they all speak "English" like I do. For goodness sakes we have at least 3 versions of "English" in the US! And I only speak 2 of those!
So, what may be said as a comment by one can very easily be construed as a snide remark by another. Getting around this "issue" takes BOTH of the parties doing the communication.
So, let's stick with the idea that not everyone sees things the same way and communicates that fact differently. For the admin team to decide someone is "not wanted" here takes quite a bit of discussion in the back room and a vote by 6 very different people. Talk about committees!

True, Russ... but we "lowly members" don't have the ability to infract people for what we perceive as "snide" comments... and since the reputation function is limited (i.e., requires that we pass the reputation around), it's not real easy for us to indicate how we are affected by those comments...
True, but that also goes both ways. We use the same reputation system, and most the mods here use that much more than any infraction tools. Heck, i can't remember the last time i actually gave out an infraction. The snide comments are not entire one-sided on this forum, so it definitely affects everybody.
It does go both ways. However when it comes from leadership it has much more weight to it. Some of the members have been trying to say this to let you know. I think it has a large effect to the numbers of posts and logins lately.
I have even been suck into the negativity as some of my posts will attest too. We as members would like to see some positive changes in the Forum but we are not sure how that will happen with the current leadership in place or without a change of attitude on their part.
All we can do is point it out and hope for the best. It is your forum and you set the tone for better or worse.

No, Sam, we don't use the "same reputation system".... members can't override the "you must pass around reputation before you can give it to this member again"... and leadership can.
Snide comments from leadership are much more weighty than those from regular membership.
