Robin, it is our policy to remove the PM privileges of those members who abuse the feature. As was explained to you privately, it was removed following 'spam-like' complaints from other members.
I did not use the pm for self gain ever. Nor did I spam anyone. Spam would be sending out multiple unsolicited messages to recruit people to a site for "self gain" as you call it. I sent only an occassional single message in response to someone's posted message to let someone know there was a place to post the kind of message they were not allowed to post here.
My clear intent was to help users and in no way would I gain anything. You run a site for profit. I have a free site for the benefit of dxers, because I believe it is unfair to make profit from this dismal situation of no one being able to realize their DXS profits.
Things currently are such that dxers do not have all the information they need to make wise decisions and this forum does not allow the posting of trains of thought the admins disagree with.
It was my understanding from a long time ago that GDT did not want to have forums competing. However, over the last year dx4all has used their position of private communication with the "GDT contact" to further entice membership which directly affects the advertising profits you get. That is totally unethical in this situation in my opinion. I have however contacted GDT to verify that it is alright to pass on any information they say "can be shared" so that at least it can be distributed to other forums.
My desire was to communicate privately to dx4all admins in the hopes of considering a few things that may affect us all financially since the real goal is to arrive at the truth. I do know a few things about your "contact" that you don't and it would be wise to be careful not to be too confident that you are being told the whole truth from him. He did call me recently, but that is not what I'm talking about. If one were to really research things they could find out a thing or two that would explain why DXS does not seem to be able to get things working.
As for taking away my pm privileges to prevent me from suggesting to a person or two once in awhile that they take a look at some ideas posted on my forum, only because they can't be posted here, to think that would have any impact on your membership is pretty ridiculous and clearly shows how competitive you are and that you do not want people to research and decide for themselves what they think about DXS.
Right now we are at a turning point. People are deciding if they are going to give GDT more funds and you, the dx4all owners/admins have put yourselves in the position of presenting a biased opinion. If things don't work out as hoped, then you will be responsible to some extent for more lost money.
All I have been trying to do here or on my forum is let all views be expressed if they are supported with good reasoning... it's all speculation at this point, unless you just believe and do everything GDT says without question.
Robyn, before accusing us of being biased, I think you should really read a bit more of the forum yourself. And by that I mean not just posting questions about things that YOU don't understand, but actually reading what is being discussed here.
I would add to that, most people know of the forums there are to talk about DXSynergy and it is entirely up to them where they come to. We do not run this site for profit because believe me Robyn if that was the case it would have been closed a long long time ago.
We were the first free forum and do not need to be competitive at all, we do though listen to our members and if a member doesn't want to receive unsolicited pms from another member they don't have to and we will see to it that they don't.
If you wanted to contact us privately there is another medium called email, there is also the medium of your own forum which I know 2 of us admins belong to, also a contact us form.

We don't use it to entice membership over here, we already have membership over here. Our concerns have always been for our members to get the latest up to date news concerning DXS, we pass on to our members what they say can be shared. That is our priority.
As far as being biased, I would say neither forum is entirely unbiased in one direction or another wouldn't you? We have constantly on this forum told people either not to put any money into DX or only put funds in they can afford to lose, on the other hand, you have only just gone over to the other way of thinking, in that you now think DX is a scam, I'm sorry but we're not yet ready to join your way of thinking.

since the DXSystem is not fully functioning and there are no new users that need basic teachings, there isn't a need for two forums. I also thought it would be easier if we all could check just one forum [original post]
After a bit more investigation of your own forum (primarily looking for where you informed your own members about your phone call ... couldn't find it) I have noticed that the majority of threads I opened all started off something along the lines of 'xxx posted at dx4all', and then proceeded to cross-post information without the proper permission of the poster, reference to the original post, nor a link to the original post. These are also things that we have asked for in our forum rules.
As you have chosen to ignore our rules, I have no alternative but to infract you for them.
Robyn, if you want to be a part of the DX4All community, at least please abide by our rules.
Are you saying that messages that GDT has specified as ok to share can't be passed along without asking permission of Jan or whoever before posting it on my forum? I have gotten permission to do so from DXSupport but if you will not allow it then I will have to ask the questions directly of support only to get the same answer so I can post it. That seems kind of stupid to me.
I don't know what reason you would have for restricting the reposting of DXSupport messages. It makes no sense to me unless you're just trying to keep my tiny little forum without the most timely info just to spite me.
Regarding the call, I considered it personal and did not think it appropriate to post anything about it. I would not be having this conversation here either except that it can't be via pm. If you want you verify that he called me, you can simple ask your "contact".
As for the comment, "As you have chosen to ignore our rules, I have no alternative but to infract you for them", do you realize how arrogant you sound to say such a thing? Go ahead, it's your duty since I am really such a terrible trouble-maker.
Robyn, we are NOT restricting the reposting at all. We simple ask that you give the appropriate credit for the person concerned and a link to the original post so that your members can verify it.
I didn't consider my statements to be arrogant at all ... simply maintaining the rules that we ask ALL members to abide by (and most have no problem doing so)
