Allan, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to be rude I've just had a really miserable day.

I have an 8 week old puppy and a 12 week old kitten who just happens to be quite a bit larger than the puppy and is aggressive as she can be. She will not leave the poor pup alone and has been attacking it for 3 days now and I'm at my wits end. I can't leave them alone together for a second! So, I've had to take the kitten back to where I got her from and I really liked her a lot but I just couldn't deal with the chaos anymore.

And then I went to open a new checking account near where I live. All fine and dandy except for one thing. My passport had been amended to change my name from my married name to my maiden name (I've been widowed for 11 years) which only involved crossing off my married name on my passport. The American Embassy here in Guadalajara made the change for me and made a notation of the change on a page of my passport.

Now mind you, the Mexican government recognizes the name change as evidenced by their issuing my resident visa in my maiden name, but the bank doesn't want to accept that. Can you believe it? They said that they can issue me an account with only my maiden name but I'll have to sign it with my full name including my married name, even though it isn't my legal name anymore!!!! They want me to sign a name that isn't even mine because that's the way I originally signed the passport.

So now I have to go and get some kind of notarization that my name is legally the name I was born with. It was all I could do to keep from screaming at the man at the bank when he kept saying that the name on my passport included my married name and I asked him when something is crossed off, doesn't that cancel it out, especially when it's been legally done by my own government? It was like banging my head against a brick wall to get that across to him, and he still wouldn't budge!

I tell you all this in order to explain my rotten mood, Allan, and ask you to please accept my apology if I came across as being rude to you in my last post. I posted it, and because it goes to moderation for this folder I couldn't even edit it. So therefore I make this public apology.

But we still need to agree to disagree!
