And Google is slowly getting more screwed up every day.
One day you can have a page rank and the next it can be gone.
It is actually a bit dissapointing that Google has such a monoply on the whole SEO importance thing of websites ... and this has only come about because they 'can' (if they so desire) drive a LOT of traffic to your site.
For example - a couple of years ago my
Garticles site started getting huge amounts of traffic. I figured this was a result of finally getting my marketing results nailed and I was very happy (more so because this is an adsense revenue driven site - ie it's a free service that is monitize solely by Google ads .... high traffic means higher revenue) and for a couple of weeks I was getting a good return from the site. Very low by a lot of the other 'adsense' site terms, but I was happy with what was coming in.
And then Google woke up and 'fixed' whatever had happened and ever since then my traffic has been more average and my revenues way, WAY lower.
